*~*~*

The hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

You feel like you're being watched.

A shape moves just beyond your vision.

There is a world that lives in the shadows of what we know.

Once you are touched by it, you forever become part of

The Weird.

Players

*~*~*

Take on the mantle of one of the people who has interacted with The Weird. Players can be hunters, seeking to protect the people around them, once-hunters who have had something take them out of active duty, scholars and experts in different areas, or just people who have had the blinders removed, as well as members of The Weird itself. These characters are all members of an internet forum, where they interact and help each other solve problems that occur in their various areas as best they can.

Gameplay

*~*~*

This game is text based and played on a Slack forum, though there are infrequent video meetings for event play. Private rooms can be made for player to player discussion, though the link can be shared for other players to view out of character. The forum moderators are able to see all messages not privately sent to another player.

Basic character information and lore about factions are provided to players, who will also be expert in a particular area of The Weird in which they are the final word. There are, however, so many traditions that there are no right answers. For instance, while a vampire expert might know for a fact that garlic is effective against vampires, a vampire may not respond to garlic. This should spur investigation into why that might be so with the other members and foster emergent gameplay.

Players may also schedule events if they want to ensure people are online to engage with a particular scene.
